Show Dates Of garbage Pick-Ups In Town Announced Rae Scholes, who recently entered en-tered into a contract with Roosevelt Roos-evelt City to collect and dispose of the garbage in the city, Tuesday Tues-day announced a schedule when residential property owners can expect to have their waste picked up. According to Mr. Scholes, h-i will pick up garbage Monday and Thursday in that part of ' the city lying west of what j would be First West when the I streets get a number (running north and south past the Baptist Bap-tist Church). Homes east, including in-cluding "Mud Flat," will have lick-up service on Tuesday and Friday- . 4 The business section of the city will have daily garbage service with pickups planned as early each day as possible. Full cooperation as to availability avail-ability of waste and not overloading over-loading cans with heavv garbage gar-bage is asked. Mr. Scholes announced that response to the recent suggestion sugges-tion from the city council that people avail themselves of the opportunity to help keep the city clean had been fair. However, How-ever, there is a long way still to go', and many should analyze their ability to dispose of their own accumulation of waste and then act accordingly. Mr. Scholes announced that he will be willing to cooperate with those who are in the process pro-cess of spring cleaning. He will haul additional waste on a small hourly charge, with trees and limbs included, providing they are cut in sizes that one man can handle. These also would be on a special basis. As was reported a few weeks ago, the city officials intend iO keep Roosevelt clean, and cooperation co-operation is very necessary if a good job is to be done. More emphasis is being placed on Main Street, and keeping the sidewalks cleaned in front of the individual places of business. Much improvement has been noted, but some still have not responded. |
