Show Again churches in this area are planning special programs in commemoration of the anniversary an-niversary of the resurrection of The Saviour, which is Easter Sunday .... The three organized organ-ized churches in the Roosevelt area, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catholic and Baptist, have reported the programs which are listed below. be-low. According to Bishops R. V. Larson and E. J. Nixon of the two L D S wards; Reverend William Trow of the Baptist Church and Rev. Ignatius Stran-car Stran-car of St. Helen's Catholic Church, very fine programs are arranged in their respective re ligious services, and the public, pub-lic, as well as members, is invited in-vited to attend. Following are the programs as announced by the leaders: LDS CHURCH Roosevelt Ward Activities in the RooseveH Ward will begin at 9:15 a. m., with the regular priethood meeting, meet-ing, to be followed with Sunday Sun-day School at 10:30 a. m. A special Easter program has been arranged by the various classes in the school and will be presented in the chapel, under un-der the direction of Vernon Buchanan, superintendent. The Sacrament service at 6:30 p. m. will feature a mixed chorus, directed by B e n n i e Schmiett, with Dr. Don A. Johnson slated to deliver the Easter message. Bishop Larson will preside. .Second Ward Bishop Nixon announces that a similar program will be followed fol-lowed in the Second Ward as , in the Roosevelt Ward, except ing the time is one-half hour earlier. Priesthood meeting begins be-gins at 8:45 and Sunday School at 9:45. The Junior Sunday School will present the morning morn-ing program. Special music is - scheduled for Sacrament meeting at 6:30 p. m., and Melvin Peterson, seminary sem-inary instructor, will deliver the Easter message. The program pro-gram will be held in the activity activ-ity room of the chapel. Catholic Church Easter services in St. Helen's Catholic Church, under the direction di-rection of Father Strancar, this year have a dual attraction. A mission that has been in progress pro-gress during the past week under un-der the direction of Rev. A. J Spear of Layton, will come to a close with two masses scheduled sched-uled for 7 and 8:30 a. m. These masses and a special breakfast at the Rectory will also bring ( Holy Week to an end. , The mission services will bi held at 7:30 each evening on i Friday and Saturday, with con-j con-j f essions to be heard on Holy ! Saturday afternoon. Baptist Church Easter will conclude the two-week two-week Revival Campaign of the Baptist Church. Each evening until April 13, at 7:30 o. m , Rev. T. M. Gillham will speak from God's Truth. On Easter there will be Sunday Sun-day School at 10 a. m. and Worship Service at 11 a- m.. with vocal music by the local choir. In the evening at 7 p. m , the Training Union will meet, and at 8 p. m. the closing service of the Revival Campaign will I be held. I Everyone is cordially invited 1 to attend these services. |
