Show Roosevelt Will Again Host M Men Tournament Four Stakes To Compete In Two Classes Beginning Feb. 1st; All-Star Teams Will Be Selected " Roosevelt stake will again be host to the annual Region 14, subdivision sub-division "C" basketball tournament which is' held to decide entries in the All-Church M Men tournaments tourna-ments scheduled for 1'ate in February Feb-ruary and early in March. According to George Hacking, supervisor of sub-division "C" which includes Uintah, Moon Lake, Duchesne and Roosevelt stakes, four teams from the Senior M Men division will compete, and in the Junior division eight teams from the four stakes will compete. com-pete. Uintah, Roosevelt and Duchesne Du-chesne are sending teams in the Senior class, and a fourth entry will be decided Monday night, Jan. 30, when the runner-up team from Duchesne' stake will meet the second place team in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt stake to determine the fourth team. Myton is the winner from RooseVelt stake and Ballard is the runner-up team and they will meet the Duchesne second place team at Altamont Monday night. Moon Lake stake failed to organize or-ganize Senior groups for competition, compe-tition, and consequently won't have a team in the older class. Because Roosevelt and Duchesne stakes had more activity than Uintah, their runner-up teams are playing for the right to enter the tourney as the fourth team. All Stakes Entered All four stakes carried on a very successful Junior division program during the season and each will send its first and second place teams into the play-off tourney. tour-ney. The Junior All-Church tournament tour-nament this year is being taken to Logan where it will be' played in the USAC fieldhouse. The Senior Sen-ior tournament again will be at Provo in the BYU fieldhouse. To Choose All-Star Teams As in the past an All-Star team in both classes will' be chosen and trophies will be presented the winning win-ning teams and the teams chosen for the sportsmanship award. All these awards will be made Saturday Satur-day night following the championship champion-ship games. There will be four games on Wednesday and Thursday, and two championship games on Saturday Sat-urday night. Garrft time the first two nights will be at 6, 7, 8 and 9 o'clock. On Saturday night the first championship game between the Junior teams will be' at 7:30, and the final' contest will be at 8:45 p.m. At the half of both games Wed- nesday night dance numbers will be presented by the Roosevelt and , Uintah stake MIA groups. Uintah I stake dance directors are Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hacking, and Roosevelt directors are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman. Duchesne stake will present the floor show at the half on Thursday night, under the direction of their leaders, Renon Christensen and Don Mayhew. On Saturday evening, dance numbers will, be' demonstrated by the Moon Lake stake, under the supervision of Louise Bearden, dance director. |
