Show Girls Urged To Enter 'filiss j Duchesne' Contest Response from girls in Duchesne Du-chesne County to enter the Miss Duchesne County contest this year is very good, announces Mrs. J. V. McLea, chairman of the event, which will take place during the County Fair. Entries may still be made, and the chairman urges every eligible girl to take advantage of this opportunity, with a search for entries being conducted con-ducted in every community in the county. Contestants must be single and never have been married, divorced or had a marriage annulled, an-nulled, and must be 18 years of age by Sept. 1, but not older than 28. Girls entering the contest con-test must be in good health and may be either amateur or professional pro-fessional to participate in the three-minute talent routine which is a highlight of the contest con-test to be held in Duchesne at the County Fair on Sept. 5. The talent may be singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, a dramatic reading, or she may give a three-minute talk oh the career she wishes to pursue. Esther Wogec of Roosevelt, "Miss Duchesne County" for 1951, was a runner-up in the "Miss Utah',' contest competition held at the State Fair. A special fund has been set up by the Duchesne County Fair Board for use in paying expenses expens-es of the winning contestant in participating in the state fair and for purchasing a gift of appreciation ap-preciation for each of the county coun-ty contestants. "Miss Duchesne County" will lead the parade Saturday morning morn-ing following the Friday night contest, and will receive as the first price the chance to compete com-pete at the State Fair for the "Miss Utah" title. |
