Show New A. Legion Officers Seated The American Legion and Auxiliary held their regular meetings Saturday night in the Legion Hall. New officers were installed in separate ceremonies. The Legions' new officers are Max Allred, commander; Clyde Lambert, adjutant. Other names were not available. The Auxiliary's new officers are Maxine Clark, president; Mrs. Mary Dump, 1st. vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. Thelma Dunsmore, 2nd vice president; Mrs. Ruby McMillan, secretary; Mrs. Melva Allred, historian; Mrs. Beverley Fieldsted, sergeant-at-arms; Mrs. Mary Carroll, chaplain. District officers in charge of the installation ceremonies were Dale Ashby, district commander; com-mander; Kirk Benson, district 1st vice commander; and Mrs. Erma Sutteer, district president of the Auxiliary, all of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. After separate business meetings, meet-ings, the two groups joined for a delicious lunch. and Mrs. Clarence Smith on Saturday. Sat-urday. Lowell Leavitt, who is staying stay-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell, has recovered from the measles. Ferril Jac-obson Jac-obson also has measles. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Timothy Timo-thy and family, of Bonanza, spent Saturday night in Altonah on their way to Salt Lake City. V. L. Woodward, of Provo, came in Saturday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Snyder Sny-der and family, of Omaha, Neb., arrived Sunday morning to visit Mr. Snyder's mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder, and a brother, Kieth. and a sister, Mrs. Jerald Jacob-son Jacob-son and their families. Mr. and Mrs. John Watkins, of Vernal, were Sunday g"uests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe. Ty Kolb accompanied George Rogers, of Mt. Emmons, to Og-den Og-den Sunday, with a load of his cattle. Mrs. Lottie Litizette and her two granddaughters, of LaJola, California, and Mrs. Mable Stevenson, Stev-enson, of Salt Lake City, visited at the homes of Mrs. Ethel Fisher. Mrs. Elva Snyder, Ms. Lucy Jacobson, Mrs. Arda Ames and other relatives during the week. The first baptizing of the year was performed Sunday by Lu-ane Lu-ane Young. Those baptized and confirmed in Sacrament meeting were Patricia Shiner, Carol Timothy, Linda Mohlman, Ray Fisher and Kent Maxfield. Also i the baby son of Mr and Mrs. : Blaine Corbin was blessed and I given the name Steven Ray. George McConkie, of Vernal, visited Saturday at the home I of Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, Jr. , Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson, Mrs. Dora Bird and daughters attended the Sorenson family reunion re-union in Mayfield Canyon Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reese made a trip to Salt Lake last week, where Mr. Reese received medical care. On their return Sunday, they were accompanied bv their nieces. Jackie Ann and Merrie Bowman, and a friend, Kay Campbell, who will visit here for a time. I Mr. and Mrs. Levar Weeks, of Salt Lake City, and Calla Rae Weeks, of Colorado, were Sunday guests at the home of their uncle and 'aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fowler and family, of Los Angeles. California, Cal-ifornia, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Fowler and Howard Fowler left Friday for their home. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Ludvigson", Ludvig-son", of Salt Lake City, left for their home Thursday after visiting vis-iting relatives here. Mrs. Ludvigson Lud-vigson is the former Lenore Powell, of Altonah. Mrs. Charley Timothy and family.of Bonanza, are visiting Mrs. Timothy's parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Maxfield and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Allred accompanied their son. Charley, and Miss Wanda Mitchell to Logan on August 1, where they were married in the L D S Temple. Tem-ple. They then motored on to Yellowstone National Park, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett, of Rangely, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Fowler and family, of Los Angeles. California, Cal-ifornia, visited Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Fowler and Howard Fowler recently. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jenkins and son,' of Bluebell, visited relatives rel-atives here Thursday. Rex Clark is driving the milk truck for Shirley Williams, of Bluebell, for a few days. |
