Show QUICK STITCHING STITCHERS I NEOLA The Quick Stitching Stitchers held a meeting Thurs-1 Thurs-1 day at the home of Elaine Duncan. The pledges were led by our president, pres-ident, ArVella Eksund. Business was then discussed, after which songs were sung. After the songs, patterns were cut out, then refreshments re-freshments were served. Judy Bastian Reporter h-h-h-h FOUR LEAF CLOVER The Four Leaf Clover Club of Bridgeland held our meeting June 20, at the home of Delorise Myers. Delorise led the pledge to our flag. Ruth Ann led the 4-H pledge and we sang the Club Boys, Club Girls song. We made drop cookies out of our ready mix we had prepared at home. We served cookies and punch, then club was dismissed. Ruth Ann Barker Reporter h-h-h-h BUSY STITCHERS ROOSEVELT The Busy Stitchers Stitch-ers 4-H Club met Monday afternoon after-noon at the home of their leader, Nancy Rockwood. Kaye Labrum, president, took charge of the meeting, after which light refreshments refresh-ments were served by Miss Rock-wood. Rock-wood. h-h-h-h THE HAPPY HOMEMAKERS ROOSEVELT Meeting was called to order by Sondra Asay. Linda Bowden led in singing. We worked on our aprons. Sherry Fieldsted was unable to be here. Sondra Asay served refreshments refresh-ments and meeting was' adjourned at 4:00 o'clock. Joyce Young Reporter h-h-h-h HOMEMAKERS BRIDGELAND Our 4-H Club meeting was held at the hdme of Colleen Fitzgerald, Monday, June 13. We learned how to make quick mix and maple milk shakes. Members attending were Colleen Fitzgerald and Karen Liddell and our leaders, Alice Beal and Edna ; i Nielsen. I I Karren Liddell Reporter 1 h-h-h-h SNAPPY SNIPPERS MYTON The Snappy Snippers Snip-pers 4-H Club meeting was held at Sherril Richens' place. This meeting took place Monday, June 6th at 2:30 p.m. Betty Lee Wood-ard Wood-ard led the 4-H Pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Projects were sewed on. ! Attending this meeting were: Mrs. Jack Nielsen, Elaine Chand-! Chand-! ler, Sherril Richens, Mrs. Celia Richens, Inez Burgess, Betty Lee Woodard, Jean Chandler, Mary Ellen Giles, Glenna Dart, Carol Ann Nielsen, Linna Crapo, LaRae Woodard and LaRee Bywater. Refreshments were served and the meeting was adjourned. Mary Allen Giles Reporter The Myton Snappy Snippers' 5th 4-H Club meeting .was held at the Chandler home, Monday. June 13th at 2:30 p.m. Carol Ann Nielsen offered the opening prayer and Betty Lee Woodard led the 4-H Pledge and Pledge of Alleg-jiance Alleg-jiance to the flag. A song was I sung, led by Elaine Chandler and I played by Glenna Dart. LaRee By-water By-water read the minutes and they were approved. We discussed how we are going to raise money for the treasury. The community service ser-vice was discussed and projects were worked on. Those present were: Mrs. Jack Nielsen, Elain Chandler, Betty Lee Woodard, LaRee Bywater, Mary Ellen Giles, Glenna Dart, LaRae Woodard, Linna Crapo, Inez Burgess, Bur-gess, Jean Chandler, Carol Ann Nielsen and Sherril Richens. Punch and cookies were served as refreshments, after which the meeting was adjourned. Mary Ellen Giles Reporter h-h-h-h HONEY BEES ROOSEVELT The Honey Bees met at the home of their leader, Maude Anderson, with 9 present. Prayer was offered by Donna Bircher; song, "Battle Hymn of the Republic," was sung. Next Friday all the girls in our club are going to bring 200 to buy a 4-H flag and an American flag for our club. We each worked on our sewing kit. Refreshments were served by Carol Kay Felter and Jean Todd. Closing prayer was by Kay Anderson. An-derson. Rosemary Smith Reporter h-h-h-h EVER READY CLUB ROOSEVELT The Ever Ready Club met Wednesday, June 15, at the home of Margaret Fredrickson. Tana Krissman called the meeting to order, then Connie Hansen led us in some songs. Mrs. Root, our leader, gave us menus and song books for this year. Light refreshments were served and the meeting was adjourned. Eight members were present. Margaret Fredrickson Reporter h-h-h-h BOWL LICKERS ROOSEVELT The meeting of the Bowl Lickers was held Friday, June 17. Earlene Allred called the meeting to order, after which we discussed our problems. We made salads and the meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Six were present, including our leader, Mrs. Renae Chasel. Carma Gardner Reporter h-h-h-h NIMBLE FINGERS ROOSEVELT The Nimble Fingers Fin-gers Club met at the home of their leader, Dorene Gomm. The president, Pamela Birchell, conducted con-ducted the meeting. Two demonstrations demon-strations were given at the meeting, meet-ing, one by Lois Fenn on how to sand wood, and the other by Judy Ann Pitt on how to varnish wood. We started on our first project which is a note holder. We learned how to make maple milk shakes. Marie Peterson Reporter h-h-h-h HOMEMAKERS ROOSEVELT The Roosevelt Homemakers met at the home of their leader, Nadine Ottosen June 21. Ann Murphy called the meeting meet-ing to order and Laura Leavitt led in some songs, after which we talked about our community pro-! ject and record books. Pam Harmston gave the health lesson, after which Laura Leavitt and our leader showed us how to make a sewing kit. We made a pocket on paper, after which Miss Ottosen served refreshments. Joan Zimmerman Reporter were all tied up at 10-10. Vernal then tallied three runs in the top of the eighth, but Fort Duchesne bounced back to tally four times in the bottom half of the inning to cinch the game. Reggie Bumgarner blasted a bases loaded home run in the seventh for Fort Duchesne to highlight his team at the plate. Rex LaRose, Floyd Bartlett and Walter Sixkiller each had three hits apiece for the winners. No player got over one hit for Vernal. Floyd Caudell was the winning pitcher, getting 14 strike outs, and C. Asmus was the loser. The Roosevelt victory over Altamont, Al-tamont, was featured by fine pitching. Kenny Benson did the hurling for Roosevelt and struck out 18 batters. He was tagged for five hits, while Roosevelt was able to get only three off R. Thacker and Ike Iorg. Leon Killpack, with a triple, and Carl Liddell, with a double, hit extra base blows for Roosevelt, and B. Lindsay and Thacker banged three baggers for the losers. In last Thursday's game, the Roosevelt nine fell to Vernal by a 21-8 score in a loosely played affair on the winners' field. Although Al-though Vernal only had five hits, the same number as did Roosevelt, the host team chashed in on 13 errors by the losing nine. Vernal scored in every inning. Abegglen was the winning pitcher for Vernal and Kenny Benson was charged with the defeat. Vernal's Labrum, with two, was the only person on either side to collect more than one hit. One of his hits was a double. Case, Vernal first baseman, had a triple. Shirl Rawlings and Phillip Bel-Ion Bel-Ion hit extra base blows for Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. Bellon had a three-bagger and Rawlings a double. Legion League games today pit Roosevelt against Fort Duchesne on the Fort Diamond, and Altamont Alta-mont against Vernal at Vernal. The teams will then take a two-week two-week break from the league schedule sched-ule and not return to play again until July 6. |
