Show Bovmans To Show lew Ford Tractors Friday Ford Motor Company's new farm tractors for 1955 will go on display Friday, Jan. 7, in the showrooms of Bowman Machinery Machin-ery Co., Roosevelt, Utah. Marion R. Bowman, manager, said the new line of Ford Tractors Trac-tors features five models in two power series. The full three-plow tractors are the most powerful ever built by Ford. All five models mod-els in two-tone red and grey have Ford's three-point implement imple-ment hitch with advanced hydraulic hy-draulic implement control. "We extend a most cordial invitation in-vitation to everyone to come in and see these great new tractors," Mr. Bowman said. "Our showroom show-room opens at 9:00 o'clock Friday Fri-day morning." Mr. Bowman said the new tractors trac-tors represent a major break with the past, as far as Ford is concerned, con-cerned, inasmuch as Ford has been a "single model" producer for nearly a half-century Since the late Henry Ford pioneered pio-neered the mass production of tractors in 1917, Ford has concentrated con-centrated on one size of tractor, and in the process has produced well over two million tractors. In August, 1953, the Company entered the full-line farm machinery ma-chinery field, with a complete line of farm equipment, ranging from plows and cultivators to combines, corn pickers, and hay balers. Mr. Bowman said the new tractors trac-tors are the "600" and "800" series. Both models in the 800 -series the 850 and 860 have new five-speed transmissions, and are powered by Ford's field-proven "Red Tiger" 172 cubic inch engine. en-gine. Standard equipment includes sealed beam headlights and tail-light, tail-light, safety starter and a new "Rest-O-Ride" seat, which permits the operator to "float" on a cushion cush-ion of rubber. Standard on the 860 model is Ford's new live power take-off for the operation of PTO-operated machines. With it, the operator controls the tractor, as well as 'the PTO machine, by regular clutch pedal on the tractor. In effect, this gives the farmer the advantages of an "extra engine," Mr. Bowman said. |
