Show WHITEROCKS Madeena Smith A Fire Scare A fire broke out in an old coal house in back of the new Baptist church, Wednesday night, burning burn-ing it. The fire was kept under control and no other damage was done. It is not known how the fire was started. The bishopric made its annual visit of the ward on Monday and Tuesday of this last week. WATER PIPES FREEZE The waterpipes in the gym froze and broke, letting water run over the floor and out the doors. When it was disconnected, the showers and waterheaters were also frozen and broke. A special show was shown here on Wednesday by the Tridell people. The proceeds are to go to their building fund. Boyd Moosman and family, of Wellington, were visiting relatives and friends here during the week. Mrs. Edna Evans and children, of Mt. Emmons, visited her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Matilda Moosman on Thursday. A New Year's carnival dance was held on Friday. The children enjoyed fishponds, hats, confetti and food was sold. The dancers danced the old year out and the new year in. Music was furnished by Rawlings' orchestra. Mrs. Esther Harvey, of Tridell, who is suffering with an attack of arthritis, is being cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Verna Hoops. 'Rev. Lee Roebuck and children at the Baptist church are ill with the mumps. Mrs. Dorothy Robb has been on the sick list this last week Miss Betty Moosman returned to Tooele with her sister, Lela Anderton. Betty has employment there for awhile. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Simmons, of Deep Creek, attended the carnival car-nival dance at Whiterocks on Friday. Fri-day. Dallas Murray left Wednesday to go back to school in Columbus, Ohio. A genealogical Sunday program was held Sunday evening with Bishop Ellingford, Madeena Smith and Verna Hoops as speakers. Two Book of Remembrances i were shown by Loa and Verna Hoops. Chairman Clarence Mur-J Mur-J ray was in charge of the program. I (Late for Lat Week) |
