Show LOS Indian Branch Formed At Randiett Sunday Roosevelt stake, Church of Jesus Jes-us Christ of Latter-day Saints, has its first independent branch following an organization meeting last Sunday afternoon when the Indian Branch at Randlett was organized under the direction of Hollis G. Hullinger, president of the stake. Chosen to preside over the branch was W. Russel Todd, former member of the stake presidency pres-idency and recently called to serve in the Uintah Basin Indian Mission as a missionary. According to Pres. Hullinger, approval was given recently by the first presidency to organize the Indian branch, which will be set up as rapidly as possible on the same basis as wards and branches of the church operate, with all auxiliaries to be established. estab-lished. Mr. Todd, who was set apart as an Indian missionary prior to being set apart as branch president, will serve in a dual capacity, working among the Indian In-dian people and presiding over the branch. His wife also was called as a missionary. As soon as they get their affairs in order, the Todds will move into the apartment which is a part of the newly built Randlett chapel. Another prominent individual in Indian mission affairs who participated parti-cipated in the Sunday meeting was Forrest Goodrich, president of the UBIM. He succeeded James E. Bacon several months ago. Previously Pre-viously four missionaries, Rulon Lind, Claud AHred, Morgan Merk-ley Merk-ley and Lawrence Wall had served as Randlett district presidents. presi-dents. Todd, who, following follow-ing a mission to Canada over thirty thir-ty years ago served in the Ballard ward bishopric, first as a counselor, coun-selor, then as bishop, before being be-ing called into the Roosevelt stake presidency where he served over twelve years before being released i:bout 10 months ago as first counselor to Pres. Hullinger. He received his Indian mission call Dec. 6, 1954. His wife also boasts a life of service to the church and has served in various presiding capacities. Their three sons, Keith, Max and Howard, have all served foreign missions, with Max now being president of the Roosevelt stake mission. The new branch will by supervised super-vised by officials of the Roosevelt stake in much the same manner as the 11 wards, with a high councilman being assigned to represent rep-resent the stake presidency for a six month assignment.
