Show FARMjHOME AGBlColrtlRB 0tl BCOttOHM By Louts A. Jensen County Agricultural Agnt Again this year the State Extension Ex-tension Service is conducting an out-of-state tour for livestock producers. This is the third consecutive con-secutive year that this type of tour has been conducted. Both production and marketing are stressed and those participating-in participating-in past years have felt the tours to be very worthwhile. Here is the information on this year's tour: Dates January 22 to 31. Approximate Ap-proximate cost $100, including bus ticket, meals and lodging. A $10 deposit must be made now and the remainder of the bus ticket may be paid at the beginning of the tour. Travel will be by chartered bus. The objective is to demonstrate demon-strate how livestock producers and farmers of other areas have met problems of marketing and production similar to Those of Utah, including breeding and : feeding problems, related crops, alternative market outlets, marketing mar-keting practices such as weighing, weigh-ing, costs of marketing, losses in marketing, etc. Following is a brief itinerary: Buses will leave on January 22 and stay the first night at Ka-nab. Ka-nab. The following day the group will travel to Phoenix to visit several sheep and cattle i feed lots, a pure bred Hereford herd, Milky Way, the Phoenix Market, specialty groups and irrigation ir-rigation practices. On January 25, the group will travel from Phoenix to Yuma observing pasture and feed-lot operations, the Roll Wellton water wa-ter development project, and range demand for feeder cattle. January 26, the tour will go from Yuma to San Diego, observing ob-serving feed lot operations and following the Ail-American Canal. Ca-nal. January 27-28 San Diego and Brawley, to observe cattle and lamb feeding observations and feeder order buying. January .29 . Brawley to Blythe. January 30- Start home vie Boulder Dam and Las Vegas Ve-gas and St. George, and will will arrive on January 31. I am sure this tour will be very educational.
