Show Ellen Bracken Elders Sponsor Quorum Social The Elders of the Roosevelt . Stake held a social at the Ballard Bal-lard Chapel Thursday evening, I Dec. 27. Square dancing was enjoyed en-joyed by most of the men and their partners. Attending from Ballard were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Asay, Mrs. Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. John Page. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson and Arvin Bellon. A pot-luck lunch wasi served at the close of the eve-i ning's entertainment. Over 50 guests were there during the evening. Wendel Johnson and several of the Seminary and music students stu-dents participated in a Christmas Christ-mas program in the Roosevelt Ward Sunday evening, Dec. 23, then they went to the Ballard Ward and presented their numbers. num-bers. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cook are rejoicing over the arrival of their second daughter . at the Roosevelt Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 20. I " The sympathy of the community commun-ity goes out to Mrs. Leland Angus An-gus at the death of her father, Willis E. Lewis. Mr. Lewis had, made his home With the Angus family for some time. He was a Uintah Basin pioneer. Mrs. Earl Gardner has had employment at the Family Shoe Center in Roosevelt for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson, Ander-son, who spent several weeks in Salt Lake City while Mrs. Anderson was under medical care, returned to Ballard for the Christmas holidays. Due ' to Seth Asay being ill and in the Roosevelt Hospital, several men from this ward and Duane Bracken and Bert Angus, of Roosevelt, helped do some of the work on the Asay home to get it done because of the cold weather. . Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire and two sons motored to Salt Lake City on Dec. 21 to get their daughter, Beverly, who attends at-tends school in Ogden. No Relief Society or M I A meetings were held Tuesday, Dec. 25, because of Christmas. Max Locke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Locke, of Independence, Indepen-dence, who has employment outside out-side the Basin, was home for the iholidays. Members of the MIA met Saturday evening. Dec. 22, and V had a Christmas program, then went to various parts of the ward caroling. At the conclusion of the evening they enjoyed donuts and cocoa at the chapel. Squire Mangum was confined to the Roosevelt Hospital a week with pneumonia and asthma. asth-ma. His son, Norman, assisted with the custodial work at Union Un-ion High School. Mrs. Ralph O'Neil, of Price, was a recent visitor at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McMullin. Carol and Shanna Bellon, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Xa-vier Xa-vier Bellon, Who are attending school at U S A C, Logan, spent the holidays at. home. |
