Show Bid On A Bull .... Vinterton's Donate $675 To Duchesne County Polio Fund Mis. Harold Dillman. Duchesne Du-chesne County March of Dimes chairman, yesterday announced receipt of a check for $675.00 from the Winterton Bros, ol Roosevelt and Kamas, breeders A. of Hereford cattle, as their contribution con-tribution to the campaign against Infantile Paralysis. The generous donation came through a bid Winterton Bros, made on a Hereford bull that was sold recently at the Red Bluff, California. Bull Sale for a total of $12,775, all of which went to the worthy cause. According Ac-cording to the rules of. the sale, the county designated by a bidder bid-der receives. 75 per cent of the amount of his bid, and the other 25 per cent was equally divided between the county designated by the man who donated the bull, and to Tehama County, California, where the sale was held. Winterton Bros, made a bid of $1800 for the bull, and they requested that the 75 per cent be equally divided between Duchesne Du-chesne and Summitt Counties. Thus. $1350 was equally divided di-vided between the two counties where Wintertons have livestock live-stock farms. With the $675 contributed by Winterton Bros., the total receipts re-ceipts for the 1952 March of Dimes amounted to $2,297.28. with $104.39 of this amount being be-ing used for necessary expenses during the campaign, leaving a balance of $2192 89 for Duchesne Du-chesne County. Half of this amount. $1,096.45, will remain in the county, and the other half will be sent to the National Nation-al Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. Par-alysis. Mrs. Dillman stated that when the campaign began it was her hope that Duchesne County would reach the $2000 mark, or at least top $1500. The contri- : buti'on from the Winterton brothers made this hope realized, real-ized, and they, with other contributors con-tributors and -. workers who made the drive overwhelmingly I successful, are deserving of I much praise. |
