Show Church Notes Stake Sunday School' visitors 'attending 'at-tending Sunday School were: La-Rue La-Rue Burgess and Mrs. Neilson. Speakers at Sacrament ' meeting were': Chree Brough, Deanna Dur-fee Dur-fee and Oliver Jorgensen and Harry Har-ry Tomilson. Lela Searle was sustained as Primary Pri-mary secretary; Leo Jorgensen was sustained as age group counselor and Larry Dudley as activity counselor and Grant Pickup as secretary of the Young Mens Mutual. Mu-tual. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wardle brought their baby daughter, Sandra, San-dra, home from the Uintah Basin Hospital, Monday. Mrs. Ada Pickup accompanied' her daughter, Mrs. Thora O'Neil, to Price', Sunday evening, where she will visit for some time. HOLDS WORK MEETING The Relief Society work meeting meet-ing was held Tuesday. A baby quilt was made and articles for a baby' layette. Work was under the direction of MabI.e Nebeker. The MIA presented their Scout assembly program Tuesday evening, eve-ning, after which dancing was enjoyed. en-joyed. Punch and cookies were served. Mrs. Marion Taylor arrived home Wednesday night. Mrs, Taylor Tay-lor accompanied her mother to Los Angeles, Calif, on a sight-seeing tour. PARTICIPATE IN LEGION ORATORICAL CONTEST The' oratorical contest sponsored by the American Legion was held Thursday evening at the American Legion hall in Roosevelt. Contestants Contes-tants from here were: Diane Taylor Tay-lor and Rhea Pickup. Their subject sub-ject was "Our Contitution in a Changing World." Diane Taylor won first place arid Rhea Pickup won second. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pickup and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor attended the contest. The Harry Tomilson family of Willow Creek attended all Sunday meetings here. Lyle Pickup spent the weekend visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Pickup. Miss Ann Peterson of Neola visited Sunday at the Pickup home' and attended Sunday School here. WATER MEETING HELD A group of Ouray Park Irrigation Irriga-tion Co. stockholders met Thurs' day evening at the home of Stanley Stan-ley Nebeker. The regular meeting was held Friday night. A cook's clinic was held Thursday Thurs-day at. the Avalon School. Supervisor Super-visor Lola Christensen conducted the meeting. Primary supervisor, Glenn Allred and child guidance supervisor Reese Anderson were visitors Thursday at the Avalon School. Edgar Jensen stayed home from work this week as his son Eddie, was quite ill. The older girls in Mr. Hullinger's room went to the Grant Pickup home and made Valentine cookies and decorated them for their Valentine Val-entine party Tuesday, Harold Dudley arrived home from his trip to Boston. Mr. Dudley Dud-ley drove a new Pontiac home. Mrs. Sylvia Foster and children, Donna and' Doyle', and Miss Sybil Turner spent Sunday afternoon visiting at the J. E. Jensen home. |
