A meeting was held Friday in the court room under the direction dir-ection of C. A. Massie, Irrigation Mgr. and Wilson Gutzman, Land Operation Officer for irrigation officials of-ficials and' water users under can-els can-els in this immediate area, discussion dis-cussion was on problems of mutual interest to the water users and it was planned to make these meetings meet-ings yearly occurances although several meetings have been held throughout various areas on the project. Mrs. Dorothea Weilang is now working for the Land Operations Division as a G-s , Clerk Steno. The tribe is now advertising the Randlett Subjugation Project for lease, bids will be opened March 20th at 1:30 p.m. in accordance with the General Council meeting meet-ing May 30, 1955 requesting the project be leased. Connie Mack Denver has been convalescing the past week in the Roosevelt hospital with a heart ailment. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Logan spent the weekend in Salt Lake City where Mrs. Logan, on Friday, attended at-tended the Western States Convention Conven-tion of the General Federation of Women's Clubs held at Hotel Utah, and on Saturday1 morning participated partici-pated in the winter board meting of the Utah Federation in which she serves as Director of Junior Clubs. Saturday evening and Sunday, Sun-day, she attended Executive Board meetings of the Utah Business and Professional Women's Clubs in which organization she is completing complet-ing her second year as State Treasurer. . Richard Curry and family departed de-parted for Los Angeles, California Wednesday, where' Mr. Curry will enter Vocational training under sponsorship of Bureau of Indian Affairs. Wilson Johnson has taken over Mr. Curry's job as lease clerk. Joyce E. Arrowichis and Jeanette Accawana are scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on March 6 to enter Vocation Training. They will be the first full blood girls to relocate in Los Angeles since the vocational training program was offered to the full bloods. Mary S. Jenks is also scheduled to report to the Denver Field Relocation office where she will enter vocational voc-ational training. R. O. Curry, business manager and Albert LaRose, accountant went to Salt Lake Monday to confer con-fer with tribal attorney, John S. Boy'den. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Summers Sum-mers from Randlett went to Salt Lake City and back Sat. They brought Edna C. Duchesne from Neola back with them. . Fred Lucero left for Salt Lake Thursday where he has employment, employ-ment, he is also in the National Guard and will continue training there. Mrs. Keith Todd from Salt Lake is now employed with the Land office as clerk, she is at present staying with her parents the Alma Will's of Roosevelt. Mr. Todd is to join her in the near future and they plan to make their home here. C. J. Carter, Special' Officer for the reservation underwent an operation op-eration in a Salt Lake hospital last Monday. He is recovering well and is expected home this week. |
