Show LAPOin-T Mrs. Mable Jenkins Soldier Returns Home From Korea Glenn . Huber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber, was discharged dis-charged recently at Camp Stoneman, Calif. He was stationed sta-tioned in Korea for 15 months with the Artillery as switchboard switch-board operator. His wife, Shirley Shir-ley Morrill Huber, met him at Salt Lake City and they vacationed vaca-tioned at Bryce and Grand Canyons Can-yons before returning to La-point, La-point, where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long and baby, of Duchesne, and Mr. , and Mrs. Nyle Bigelow and son, of Vernal, visited at the home of their parents, Mr. and . Mrs. Charles Bigelow, during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bigelow, of Salt Lake City, visited with relatives and friends in Lapoint during the week. They were former residents here. Mr. and Mrs. Jean Philfer, of Cozard, Nebraska, are visiting visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Justice, and enjoying the deer hunt. She is the former Ollie Rae Justice. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Lee and son, Darian, of Ogden, visited his mother, Mrs. Bhoda Lee, and enjoyed the deer hunt. HONORED AT RECEPTION A shower and dance was held at the Lapoint chapel Saturday afternoon and night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Harrison, who were recently married at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Harrison. A large crowd was in attendance and they received many lovely gifts. The bride was the former Betty Timothy, of Roosevelt. They will make their home in Vernal, where he has employment. employ-ment. VISIT RELIEF SOCIETY Murial Wallis, Evelyn Richardson Rich-ardson and Mable Tullis, of the stake Relief Society board, of Vernal, were visitors at Relief Society on Tuesday. Ronald Searle and family, of McKinnon, Wyo., also the Delos Searle family, of Willow Creek, and Mr. and Mrs. Jean Danials, of Gusher, were visitors at the Rile Blackburn home during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Taylor attended at-tended the funeral of her grandfather, grand-father, Albert Rasmussen, at Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Irene Taylor accompanied them out and visited her sister, Myr-na Myr-na Taylor, who is attending school there. Frank Jenkins and daughter, Reva Workman, attended the funeral of Ole Olson, held at Wellington last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen visited in Ogden recently with their son, Don, and family and in Provo' with their daughter, daugh-ter, the Acel Haslem family. Virgil Miller, who is stationed station-ed at San Diego, Calif., was home on a 5-day leave, visiting his mother, Mrs. Gilbert Anderson An-derson and family. Lela Miller, who has had employment em-ployment at the- drug store in Roosevelt, is now employed at at Uintah State Bank in Vernal. |
