Democracy Democ-racy means "the people rule themselves." This reader is a good book to read. Bonnie Kae Workman Your Land and Mine I like this book. It tells many things about many people. It has many things about the early settlers and about our flag. It makes me happy to think I live in a free country. We should all try to make good citizens out of ourselves. Ellen Anderton Our assembly program, which was based on our reader "Your Land and Mine," was presented on February 15. It included several sev-eral patriotic numbers, one with i tapping the minuet, a group of Stephen C. Foster's songs and a square dance. Six of us were "darkeys." We were assisted by Mrs. Schmiett, our music teacher. Mrs. Walker's Third Grade |
