Show ENJOY TRIP EAST Mrs Ethel Brown and daugh-tef, daugh-tef, Delores, returned recently from a trip to New Port, Rhode Island, where they visited with Mrs. Brown's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Van and children, Bruce and Denice. Points of interest which impressed im-pressed the visitors were their visits to Hill Cumorah, the Sacred Sac-red Grove, Statue of Liberty, the home of Joseph Smith, Empire State Building, etc. They also spent a night at Plymouth Rock and went aboard the "Old Ironsides" battleship in Boston. The returned to' Roosevelt with the Vans, who are now in San Diego, where Mr. Van has been transferred. Enjoying a few days this week at their cabins in Uinta Canyon were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Stringham and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harmston and families. Mayor and Mrs. Paul Murphy, Johnny and Paula, returned home last Friday night from a vacation trip to Yellowstone Park and Idaho. The small ones were excited about the fifty1 bears they saw while touring the Park. Mr. and Mrs. Sarkas Arslan-ian Arslan-ian and four children recently moved to Roosevelt and are residing re-siding next door to Principal L. F. Hutchings. Mr. Arslanian is the new football coach for Union Un-ion High School. Returning Sunday from Salt Lake City were Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald Fitz-gerald attended a Farmers Home Administration convention while his wife visited relatives in Kamas and Heber City. Mrs. Benjamin Wilson returned return-ed home Sunday after having spent the past two weeks in. Af-ton. Af-ton. Wyo. It had been 31 years since she had seen her brother and other relatives. She was accompanied from Salt Lake City by her grandson, Vernon Timothy, his wife and son, Randy. Guests at the home of Mrs. Mary Eldredge for two weeks were her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hickman, Hick-man, from Fort Pierce, Florida, who left Sunday for their home. A UBIC visitor was Mrs. El-dredge's El-dredge's niece, Miss Clista Max well, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bowman and daughters, Deanna and Dearwyn, were Salt Lake City visitors the forepart of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley R. Dick-; erson, Aria and David, were Salt Lake City visitors Tuesday. Proud parents of a new daughter are Mr. and Mrs. Gene L. Wamsley. The little Miss was born Friday, August 6, at the Roosevelt Hospital and weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. She answers to Teresa Ter-esa Jeanne and returned home with her mother from the hospital hos-pital last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Drollinger left last Saturday for a vacation vaca-tion trip to Yellowstone Park, Montana and Idaho. x Mrs. Floyd Peterson and Mrs. Martha Shanks are in New York attending the Hill Cumorah pageant. pag-eant. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wardle, proud parents par-ents of a 9 lb. 1 oz. baby boy, born Monday, Aug. ,2 in the local lo-cal hospital. His name is Keith Edwin and it makes the second boy for the Wardles. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dillman and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle. |
