Show Vernal Laborer Fined $50 In S. L. Beating A Vernal laborer Monday was fined $50 and sentenced to 60 days in jail on a charge of assault as-sault and battery against a Salt Lake mother and her 14-year-old son. . Cameron Jackie Gentry, 23, Vernal, was charged with assaulting as-saulting Mrs. Laverle Thurman, 40 and her son Jimmy, 14, Sunday Sun-day morning at the Thurman residence, 723 Logan Ave. Police Po-lice reported that a neighbor of the Thurmans intervened with the butt of a rifle and subdued sub-dued Gentry. City Judge J. Patton Neeley ordered that the jail sentence be suspended on payment of the fine. |
