Show Bennett Expresses Opposition To 'Socialistic' Brannan Farm Plan Asserting that he is strongly opposed to the Brannan Farm plan, Wallace Bennett, Salt Lake City, candidate for the Republican nomination to the U. S. Senate, last week set forth his position on agriculture. In a special statement to the Roosevelt Standard, Mr. Bennett said in part: "I am opposed to the Brannan program, or to any other farm plan that permits such complete federal control of our farmers and our agricultural economy. Though the present price sup- fiort program leaves many prob-ems prob-ems unsolved, it should not be discarded until our farmers and stock raisers themselves can help work out a plan which will restore free markets without wrecking agriculture." "Through the Brannan plan," Mr. Bennett insisted, "the so-called so-called Fair Deal administration and its "rubber stamp" congressional congres-sional members from Utah are attempting tp regiment and socialize so-cialize agriculture just as some of their other proposals are aimed aim-ed at socializing medicine and the health service, housing, education, edu-cation, etc." |
