Show 9oka Mrs. Violet Gentry Mrs. Bertha Angus THURSDAY CLUB IS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Mattie Mortensen entertained enter-tained the Thursday club at her home on Dec. 14. Gifts were exchanged by the club members and delicious refreshments re-freshments were served to Olive Ol-ive Sorensen, Edith Gentry, Lucy Lu-cy Edwards, Gladyes Dart, Jo Yergenson, Margaret Lloyd and Sarah Brokaw. Mrs. Clarence Jones and children chil-dren visited in Roosevelt Friday. Fri-day. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lemon visited relatives in Price and Salt Lake last week. Word was received in Ioka last week that a daughter had ' been born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Batchelor, of Ogden. Mrs. Batch-elor Batch-elor will be remembered as Saxon Jones, of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart left Friday to spend the Christmas I holidays in Salt Lake with their children. They will also visit in California with their son and family before returning home. jrs. Mattie Drolc, of Price, has been S guest of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Reed Lemon, Commissioner James Lloyd made a business trip to Salt Lake last week, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Washburn, Wash-burn, of Spanish Fork, were guests of Wesley's mother, Mrs. Olive Sorenson, during the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Tom Gentry and children chil-dren visited Mr. and Mrs. Devon De-von Gentry, of Myton, on Christ-imas Christ-imas Day. Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Webb 'entertained at a family dinnei on Christmas. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Roy French and son, Farrel, of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Webb, of Myton, My-ton, and Mr. and Mrs. Clay'.on Webb, of Ioka. Howard Jones was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones Sunday. Mrs. Wayne Ames spent the holiday in Salt Lake at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Molski. Dr. and Mrs. L. G. Benson, of Cedar Citv. and Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Benson and small daughter, of St. George, spent the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr, and Mrs. Archie Ar-chie Benson, Here to spend Christmas with their folks were Mr. and Mrs. Roy French and son, Farrell, of Salt Lake City, at the home of J. Edmund Webb; Mr. and 'Mrs. Ralph Scott, of Provo, with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Percival. I Those home from school at U.S.A.C. for Christmas were Terry Morrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Morrill, Howard Lloyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lloyd; and from the L D.S. 'Business collige, Charlyn Stone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Gar-rett Stone; also another daugh-jter daugh-jter of the Stones', Gwen, who is ' employed in Salt Lake City; also 'Dee Drollinger, who is employed 1 in Salt Lake; and Edna Angus, I who is working in Sacramento, 1 California, I Clare Benson made a business trip to Salt Lake City Sunday and returned Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Randel Russell 'and family went to Kuna, Idaho .to spend Christmas. Mr. Russell's Rus-sell's father is very sick. Mrs. Wayne Ames and daughter, daugh-ter, Florence, went to Salt Lake City to spend Christmas with I her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ames 'joined them on Sunday. I Speakers in meeting Sunday 'were Myrtle Faucett and Hugh ! Percival. A mixed quartet, Jim (Lemon, Garret Stone, Marie Benson and Gladys Drollinger, sang a Christmas song. There were also exercises given by the Primary, and Arden Timothy was graduated from Primary. The advanced senior Sunday school class entertained for the group that will enter the class I Thursday evening at the home 'of Sally Nelson. The hosts were Marilyn Morrell, Garn Lloyd, Howard Lloyd, Terry Morrill. 'Jack Greenland Keith and Elmer El-mer lemon. The new comers ' are LeRae Drollinger, Dale Nelson, Nel-son, Nadine Faucess and Roene Lemon. Games were played and refreshments were served. I A very nice Christmas program pro-gram was given in Sunday I School, Sunday. I The Primary Christmas party . Friday was well attended and enjoyed by the children. . The choir entertained with a I cantata Wednesday night, directed direct-ed by Mrs. Gertrude Russell and others. To help Jim Drollinger celebrate cele-brate his 8th birthday, Alton D. Percival spent Monday evening and night with him. Mrs. Arevilla Lemon is in Price receiving medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Jason Cuch and Alice Cuch, Joan and Fern Ca-dell, Ca-dell, of Fort Duchesne, visited at the Angus home Sunday night. |
