Show KIWANIS CLUB INSTALLS 1951 OFFICERS AT DINUEH-MEETIUG J. D. Walker, local building contractor, last night was installed in-stalled as president of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Kiwanis club by Dr. Milton Mil-ton Rigby, lieutenant governor of the Utah-Idaho district, at an impressive dinner-meeting at the Frontier Grill, with the ladies of Kiwanis as honored guests. Presiding over the meeting as master of ceremonies was , Cliff Memmott, past lieutenant governor, and newly installed secretary-treasurer of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt club. Two new members were inducted by Dr. Rigby. with David Watkins, music instructor in-structor at the high school, a former Kiwanian, and Carl Harrison, Har-rison, manager of the Basin Implement Co., as the candidates. candi-dates. Esther Wogec and Bennie Schmiett sang several duets, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Schmiett, and group singing was directed by Mr. and Mrs. Watkins. Each lady received a beautifully engraved en-graved compact as a favor. Installed along with Mr. Walker and Mr. Memmott were Floyd Peterson, vice president; Glen Stone, Presley Timothy, John Zimmerman, Ted Harm-ston, Harm-ston, Dale Ashby, Grant Killian and Elmer Eldredge, as directors. direc-tors. The retiring officers were Mr. Walker, president; Robert Ferron, vice-president; Mr. Ash-by, Ash-by, Mr. Eldredge, Mr. Harmston, Steve Bellon, J. A. Burgess, Heber T. Hall and Mr. Killian as directors. Other guests included Lee Walker, president-elect, and Max Cluff, secretary of the Vernal Ver-nal club. The ladies were toasted toast-ed by Floyd Peterson, with Mrs. J. D. Walker responding on behalf be-half of the wives. |
