Show District Group Meets To Plan Camporee Twelve Scouters met Thursday, May 19, for the monthly Roosevelt Roose-velt District Scout Committee meeting. James E. Bacon, District chairman, presided. June 1-2 were set as the dates for the Roosevelt District Camporee. Cam-poree. The change from May 27-28 27-28 was due to the Jr, Livestock Show and the opening of fishing season. Floyd Labrum, Organization and Extension chairman, reported a new LDS Cub Pack to be organized organ-ized May 25. Ten Scouters completed the Basic Bas-ic Scoutmaster Training Course, under the direction of Bernard B. Larsen, Leadership Training chairman. chair-man. A Junior Leaders Training Course is slated for August. George Hacking, newly appointed appoint-ed Roosevelt District commissioner, commission-er, reported on the activities of the commissioner staff. He reports re-ports Leo Haueter, Loren Alexander Alexan-der and Spencer Squire as Neighborhood Neigh-borhood commissioners. He expects ex-pects to complete his staff of 9 Neighborhood commissioners by the next District committee meeting, meet-ing, June 16. The next District Court of Honor Hon-or will be June 5 at 3 p.m. at Ioka, it was reported by Sharon Cummings, Advancement chairman. A special merit badge counselor list was approved for the Myton area. The counselors approved are as follows: Campcraft group, Owen Ow-en Burgess; outdoor sports group, Owen Burgess; aquatics group, Owen Burgess, public service group, Mrs- Jesse Allen; animal husbandry group, Rex Lamb and Forrest Hancock; plant cultivation group, Loryn Ross, Rex Lamb and Willard Smith; building group, Willard Smith; arts group, Mrs. Howard Roberts and Mrs. Syerl Dennis. The next meeting was set for June 16 at 8 p.m. in the Junior High Seminary building. |
