Show 4-H Doys Who Received Awards In County Listed I Boys who received awards and-trophies and-trophies in the 1954 National 4-H Award programs in the county have been listed by Robert S. Murdock, Duchesne County agricultural agri-cultural agent. These award winners are: Achievement, Gale Larsen; dairy achievements, Tom Milburn, Newell New-ell Richens, Dennis Jones, Floyd Nielson; field crops, Michael Yer-gensen, Yer-gensen, Danny Uresk; garden, Neil Anderton; leadership, John Percival; meat animal, Jerry Merk-ley, Merk-ley, Hug Evans; poultry, Larry Beal, Clarence Beal. Judging team, Gale Larsen, Alton Al-ton Percival, Michael Yergensen. Their trip to the State Fair was sponsored by the East Duchesne Group of Cache Valley Breeders Association ($40). Trophy: Sather's Jewelry. Dairy showmanship trophy, sponsored by Neilson Jewelry, to Tom Milburn; sheep showmanship trophy, sponsored by Neilson Jewelry, to Larry Wilcken; beef showmanship trophy, sponsored by Neilson Jewelry, to Hugh Evans; swine showmanship trophy, sponsored spon-sored by Neilson Jewelry, to Gale Grand Champion fat steer, Hugh Evans. Trophy: Bert's Sportsman Center. Kiwanis Heifer, given by the Roosevelt Kiwanis Club, to Douglas "Buddy" Holgate. Grand Champion fat lamb, Ronnie Hack- ett; registered Suffolk ewe lamb donated by Winslow Rhoades. Grand Champion beef female, Jerry Merkley; show halter awarded award-ed by Brown's Inc. Three dairy halters were awarded by Moon Lake Section of the Cache Valley Artificial Breeders Association. Names of winners were not listed. |
