Show Eric Stolla Near Russian Border Mrs. Erna Stolla had net heard from her husband, Eric Stolla, for two months until recently. Mr. Stolla, who is employed em-ployed in Turkey, had been transferred to the coast and the climate had not agreed with him. He was in a hospital for some time. Mr. Stolla is now located in Turkey, near the Russian Rus-sian border. Mrs. Nettie Remington, of Vernal, district nurse, visited at the Alterra school last Thursday. Thurs-day. Lester Kettle, of Myton, Elmer El-mer and Marvin Kettle and their mother, Mrs. S. B. Kettle, of Ballard, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Gardner and daughter, Mrs. Maxine Allred, of Roosevelt, motored to Moab, Tuesday, Jan. 8 to' attend the funeral services of Mr. Omer Secrist, who fell from a seventy-five- foot cliff and died from the injuries. Angus Anderson has made several trips to Kenilworth for coal. He reports there is a lot of snow in that location. Square dancing has been postponed post-poned for some time because of the extreme cold weather. ' Jesse Hullinger, as Stake Sunday Sun-day School Superintendent, accompanied ac-companied L. F. Hutchings, of Roosevelt, to Whiterocks on Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Angus had the following guests at their home, who had come to attend the funeral services of Mr. W. E. Lewis: Mrs. H. E. Day, of Fillmore; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lambert, of Vernal; Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Benson and three children, of Hyrum, Utah; Dr. and Mrs. R. G. Lewis and three children, of Mobile, Ala.; and their son, Mark, of Provo. Due to the blocked roads, this group were unable to leave, until New Year's Day, with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Lambert, of Vernal. Mrs. Angus entertained ! this group and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Angus and two children and Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis and family, of Roosevelt on New Year's Day. Little Phyllis Stolla. daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Stolla, Jr., was taken to the Roosevelt hospital Sunday morning for medical care. Several from Ballard visited with Leonard Harris, of Myton, who is in the. Roosevelt hospital. Mrs. Charles Bingham spent ona night at the bedside of Mr. Harris, Har-ris, who is her brother. No Genealogy meetings will be held in Ballard . while the weather is so extremely caM, was announced by Ercii Johnson, John-son, who is in charge. Word has been received trot J. R. Alljed, formerly of Ballard, Bal-lard, and his wife and baby are enjoying the winter in Anchorage, Anchor-age, Alaska. J. I Mr. and Mrs. Russell Toda, I son Keith, and daughter Jo Ann. ! enjoyed the basketball game at : Altamont. I Glen Womack and Darrell i McMullin were in from Provo over the weekend. Ralph Kettle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kettle, is in Korea now, after six months of training. train-ing. Mrs. Spencer Squire has been confined to her home with the the flu. I Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Pickup and son, Lyle, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.
