Show By Louis A. Jensen County. Agricultural Agent An outstanding short course on crop insect control is being conducted at the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural College, Feb. 4 and 5. This year's school emphasises complete information and demonstrations dem-onstrations on aerial spraying and dusting. Following are some of the topics to' be treated: Alfalfa Alf-alfa Insect Control, Grasshopper Control, Hazards in Applying' Insecticides, Legal Aspects of j Spraying and . Dusting, Health t Aspect of Aerial Spraying and Dusting, the Farmer's Point of View on Aerial Spraying and Dusting, Demonstration and Inspection In-spection of Airplane Spray Rigs. Latest information on the possibility pos-sibility of the us-e of planes in other operations of interest to farmers include applying yreed control chemicals by. plane, applying ap-plying defoliants as a pre-har-, vest treatment, aerial range seeding, and aerial fertilizer applications., ap-plications., This course is open to anyone' in the state. Thos who register for it are invited to stay at the Rural Arts building build-ing on the college campus in Logan. It is suggested that those going, travel together to save on . transportation. Based on the requests of thr people, meetings and school; are being held at various communities com-munities on many subjects dur ing the next few weeks. Some of them are; 1. You will be notified through the mail as to when and where the various schools win be held in your community. You and your neighbors are invited to participate in them. . Again we are looking for public pub-lic spirited people who will volunteer vol-unteer their services as 4-H club leaders. This fine program can be made available to all our boys and girls if sufficient leaders lead-ers can be obtained. If you cannot can-not serve yourself, you might know someone who can. We would appreciate hearing about any possibilities. |
