Show Goes To Altamont . . . . Second Annual Rural Life Conference Set For March 13 By Thelma D. Nye The date has been set for the second annual Rural Life and Education Conference in Duchesne Du-chesne county, and plans are being formulated for a worthwhile worth-while educational and entertaining entertain-ing program enlarging on the theme chosen last year, "Improving "Im-proving Rural Living." Acting on the recommendation recommenda-tion of Mark Nichols, chairman of the Western States Rural Life Conferences, the Duchesne County Conference will be held ;n different communities each ear, with all communities actively ac-tively participating. Altamont High School wil! orovide the setting for this year's conference and the date will be Friday, March 13. Meetings Meet-ings are tentatively scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and the grand finale will be a very special spe-cial program Friday evening. The entire day will be crowded crowd-ed with interesting and educational educa-tional features and entertainment entertain-ment with a noon and evening meal available at the Altamonl School Lunch dining room. Superintendent Dean C. Chris tensen, Duchesne, and Principa" Lawrell Jensen, of the Roosevelt Roose-velt Junior High School, were appointed co-chairmen of the second annual R.L.E. Conference in Duchesne county. Others attending the preliminary prelim-inary planning meeting at Duchesne Du-chesne High School, Wednesday Jan. 21,. were: Mrs. Lir.H'Je N. Burgess, Myton; Mrs. Palmera Peterson, Neola; Mrs. Arleta Willians, Mrs. Hilda G. Barker, Walter T. Williams, Allen Bond Byron Thomas, Duchesne; Gladys Glad-ys Beil, Madelyn Perkins, Altamont; Alta-mont; Viola J. Hancock. Ida Harrison, W. Ralph Shields, Roosevelt; Joe L. DiStefano, A. G. Hawkins, Mrs. Thelma D. ! Nye, Tabiona; Mrs. Dorothy Moon, Hartna; Verona Goodrich, Bluebell; Mrs. Edith Burton, Mrs. Adeline E. Anderson, Tal-mage. Tal-mage. Chairmen of special committees commit-tees were chosen at this meeting meet-ing and an over-all planning committee appointed. This committee com-mittee is scheduled to meet at Duchesne February 3, and all other special committee's are to be completed by that date. |
