Show HOST TO STAKE GROUP Tabiona was host to a stake M Men and Gleaner banquet Friday Fri-day night. Jr. Gleaners and Jr. M men were also invited. Attending Attend-ing from here were Rulon and Naomi Gilbert, Gladys Capson, Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Gilbert, Lois Terpening, Lavon Horrocks and Maiva Mae' Horrocks. President and Mrs. Hale Holgate attended the funeral services in Mt. Emmons for Mrs. Jennie Orr. President Holgate was one of the speakers. Hazel Eldredge of Vernal spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Johnson. Sunday afternoon af-ternoon they took her home. Mrs. Arch Larsen visited Saturday Satur-day with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Boyd Freston. Hugh Evans, a student' at the "Y" spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arden Evans. Ev-ans. Hugh plans on registering for spring quarter. A real estate transaction took place this week when Charlie Jensen Jen-sen purchased the property owned by Mrs. Royal Burt of Farming-ton, Farming-ton, New Mexico. President Hale Holgate attended a Regional Welfare meeting in Roosevelt Saturday evening. Mildred Gilbert returned home after visiting for some time at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Max Mullins. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Burt, Mrs. Stanley Kohnhorst and daughters, Debra and Denice of Farmington, New Mexico and Mrs, John Bell of Salt Lake' City were overnight guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Larsen. Mrs. BelL is the mother moth-er of Mrs. Burt, Mrs. Kohnhorst and Mrs. Larsen. They were all former residents here. Tuesday, Kent Jensen will play at a banquet held in the Jade Room at Hotel Utah, given by the Utah State Dept. of, Vocational Rehabilitation. Re-habilitation. At this time awards will be given to those that have s;iven outstanding service in this field. Sunday night speakers at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Omni Winterton of Roosevelt, Following Fol-lowing the meeting Chad Evans sponsored a Fireside Chat at the church house. Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Buchanan of Roosevelt were the guest speakers. A good' crowd turned out. Refreshments were served to the group. Charlie Jensen of American Fork and son, Kent, of the BYU were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tanner. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields accompanied ac-companied their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wanless Shields, of Bridgeland, to Mt. Emmons to the funeral services of Mrs, Jennie Orr. Lynn Ross and Fred Evans are on the Roosevelt Jr. High School basketball, team. Friday they play- ed Uintah Jr. High with a score' of 55 to 29 in favor of Roosevelt, Everyone is glad to hear that Charley Bird? who has been in the Roosevelt Hospital with virus pneumonia, has recovered suffi-cently suffi-cently to return to his home. Lavar Hengley and a friend were Sunday visitors at the Morg Keller home. Mr. Hengley and Mrs. Keller are brother and' sister. Irvin Johnson visited the Strawberry Straw-berry branch Sunday. Stake Priesthood leadership held in Duchesne Sunday was well attended at-tended from here. Margaret and Merle Ross and Mr. and Mrs. Hale Holgate called at the Brfuce Fitzgerald home in Bridgeland, Sunday. |
