Show BOY SCOUTS ENJOY SWIMMING PARTY The' Myton Boy Scout Troop No. 253 enjoyed an outing Saturday to the Wasatch Swimming Pool in Salt Lake City.' About 25 boys participated in the event and were accompanied by Nathan Allen, Russell Gingell, Elbert Chandler, and Lamar Nielson, who furnished the cars to take the boys on the trip. Jerry Murray, Senior Life Saver, also accompanied' the troop. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alf Morrill were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Perry and daughter, daugh-ter, Janice of Salt Lake City. The Perrys also visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jenkins in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Jenkins and family and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Giles and family arrived Friday from Othello, Wash., called here by the death of their mother, Mrs. James Giles. Other members of the family who were called home were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Giles and children from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rhodehouse and family of St. Anthony, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Giles and family of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Biltz and children and Miss Holmgren of Midvale returned home Thursday after a few days visit with their mother and sister, Mrs. W. E. Burton, Bur-ton, after the death of Mr. Burton. John L. Johnson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Orval Gillen and family on a trip to Logan, where they visited at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Johnson. The Gillen family continued on to Preston, Idaho and Thursday all returned to Myton. P. E. Church, accompanied by Earl Gardner of Ft. Duchesne, left Saturday for Tracy, Calif, to bring machinery for use on the Indian irrigation service. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Davis of Rupert, Idaho were visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. i Wallace Woods. Mr. Davis is a brother of Mrs. Woods and is also a former Myton resident. Mrs. P. E. Church left Wednesday Wednes-day for Kanab, Utah, where she will visit members of her family and also see her new grandson, born March 10th to Mr. and Mrs. Norris McDonald. Mr. and Mrs, John Solmonson and family, who are at present residing in Salt Lake City, spent the weekend at their ranch home in Pleasant Valley. Mrs. Wilmer Murray was hostess hos-tess at a "Tupper Party" Friday evening at her home. Mrs. Joseph M. Moody demonstrated the Tupper Tup-per ware. Other guests were" Mrs. Jack Gingell, Mrs. LaVor Dennis, Mrs. George Funk, Mrs. Owen Burgess, Miss Alice Todd and Mrs. Fred Todd. Games were enjoyed and a dessert luncheon was served at the close of the evening. Mr, and Mrs.' Douglas Alired spent from Friday to Sunday in Salt Lake' City, where they purchased pur-chased furniture for their new home, which they anticipate occupying oc-cupying in the near future. Mrs. Bill Boren and small daughter, daugh-ter, Vickie, went to Craig, Colo. Sunday, where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boren and family, fam-ily, parents of Mrs. Boren's deceased' de-ceased' husband. James Dalgleish has been confined con-fined to his home for a few days by a sudden illness. . W. A. Jennings was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital last week for medical attention and is re ported slightly improved. Mrs. Emma Tanner has been quite' ill since returning from Carbon Car-bon County, where she spent the winter. She is now steadily improving. im-proving. Mr. and Mrs. Rollen Duke and family enjoyed a visit Sunday from Mrs. Duke's brothers and their families, Mr. and Mrs., Sam Cowley and family of Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cowley and children of Price. They all then proceeded to Vernal where they gathered at the home of another sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Vic-tor Waite, for a family reunion and to celebrate in advance the birthday anniversary of their mother, Mrs. Kate Cowley. |
