A CHERISHED GIFT Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian have decided that all desirable Christmas gifts do not necessarily neces-sarily need to be wrapped in paper and ribbon. Sunday afternoon after-noon they conversed with their son, Shirley, who is making- his home in England. The phone call was a gift from their son and daughter-in-law. Mr and Mrs. Dick Bastian, of Roosevelt WINS CONTEST Bobbie LaRose, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred La-Rose, La-Rose, won second place in the singing section of the entertainment, entertain-ment, "On Stage America," produced pro-duced by Duchesne, Wednesday evening of last week. Accompanied Accom-panied by Mrs. Thad Wilkerson, he sang, "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer," and "I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus." Mr. and Mrs. Gary Sprouse are down from their Idaho home for a visit with relatives in the Basin. At present they are staying stay-ing with Mrs. Sprouse's mother, Mrs. Zora Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Seeley and family, of Provo, were j Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer. Exemplifying the true spirit of Christmas, members of the Home Builders and Trail Builders Build-ers classes met at the chapel last Sunday afternoon and arranged ar-ranged gaily decorated boxes of food which they had provided. These were distributed to the elderly people of the ward, as well as the widows, by the group, to the accompaniment of Christmas carols. Thirteen families fam-ilies were visited. Mr. and Mrs. Tal Wardle and three sons and Mr. and Mrs. Neill Jensen and daughter will go to St. George to spend Christmas Christ-mas with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Jensen. FIRESIDE' chat The home of Mr. and Mrs. Neill Jensen was the scene of a Fireside Chat last Sunday 1 evening after the usual Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. Speaker was Ray Summers, of Roosevelt.
