Show SCHOOL DBMS JR. HIGH SCHOOL NEWS Candle and Carol Service A Candle and Carol Service was held Dec. 23 at the RJHS auditorium. The service was directed di-rected and produced by Mr. Lawrence Lee. Readers for the production were: Kay Chugg, LaRee Woodward, Wood-ward, Bonny Nielson, Alan T. and David B. The audience joined with the carolers and entered en-tered in the Christmas spirit of the assembly. Class Parties Held A Christmas Stocking dance was held during the afternoon of Dec. 16 in the RJHS gymnasium gym-nasium by the seventh graders. Helene Hancock, Robert Hacking. Hack-ing. Billy Nelson and Earl All-red All-red were awarded prizes for the loudest socks. On Dec. 18. the eighth graders grad-ers staged a Christmas party in the gymnasium. Dancing, games and refreshments were enjoyed. The afternoon of Dec. 21 saw the ninth graders enjoying a Yule Time party held in the gymnasium. It has been rumored that an occasional sprig of mistletoe mis-tletoe was used as decorations. Art Classes Design Windows Art classes, under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. Riggle, have designed de-signed and painted a beautiful window expressing the Christmas Christ-mas spirit. They will compete in the Christmas decorating pro ject. Riderette Initiation Held Riderette Initiations were held Dec. 10, 1953. Program was under the direction of Wanda Riggle, adviser. Officers who assisted in planning the affair were: Geraldine Richardson, Gloria Riding and Louise Gentry. Gen-try. The girls dressed in Western West-ern style, Rolene Duke receiving receiv-ing a prize for the best outfit. An evening party and scavenger scaven-ger hunt climaxed the initiation. Cheerleaders Named ! Cheerleaders for the balance I of '53 and '54 will be Pat Sim-! Sim-! mons, Gloria Riding and Mar-' Mar-' caret Carlson. Sports j RJHS' new basketball team ' played the faculty Dec. 15. and i beat them to the tune of 67 to 27. Faculty team was composed of: Coach Eldredge, Mr. Gomm, Mr. Miller, Mr. Doutre. Mr. Peterson and Principal Jensen. Dec. 18 RJHS loses to Duchesne's Du-chesne's B team with the score of 27-19 Starting the game were: Kenny Benson, Roy M., Ken Bastian and Roland Jenkins. Jen-kins. Concert Held Friday, the band and girls' chorus of RJHS put on musical program for the Neola Elementary Elemen-tary school, under the direction of Mr. Lawrence Lee, the band and music teacher. |
