Show 1954 Farm Program Planned In Duchesne County By Agencies Bluebell and Upalco, at Blue- The various agencies of the Department of Agriculture with offices in Roosevelt met jointly last Thursday, Dec. 17, where they planned their 1954 program for Duchesne county. Those in session were the Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation committee (old PMA). Soil Conservation Con-servation Service, Soil Conservation Conser-vation District supervisors, Extension Ex-tension Service and Forest Ser-! Ser-! vice. The Dec. 17 meeting was con-1 ducted by Reed Lyons, ASC committee chairman, and plans were made for the various area meeting which are announced below. It was also announced that another meeting has been scheduled for Jan. 5, at Roosevelt Roose-velt for all community committeemen commit-teemen together with other agencies ag-encies to' have the program explained ex-plained and outlined by S La-Vell La-Vell Bird, farmer fieldman, representing rep-resenting the state office at Salt Lake. Following are the places and dates for the community meetings meet-ings at which time farmers will be signed up for assistance in 1954. Neola, Montwel, Hayden and Cedarview. at Neola Church House, January 8, 1954; Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, at County ASC Office, Jan. 11. 1954; Myton and Ioka," at Myton Church House, Jan. 15; Mt. Home, Talmage and Boneta, at Mt. Home Church Houes, Jan. 8. Altonah and Mt. Emmons, at Altonah Church House, Jan. II; bell Church House, Jan. 15; Du- "chesne, Utahn, Fruitland and -Strawberry, at Duchesne Courthouse. Court-house. Jan. 8; Tabiona and Han-na, Han-na, at Tabiona Church House, Jan. 11; Bridgeland, Arcadia, and Ninemile, at Bridgeland Church House, Jan. 15. The following community committeemen and SCD personnel person-nel will be trained to assist in signing up and explaining the program. Those who have any questions concerning the 1954 program should contact any of the community committeemen listed, or the County ASC office, of-fice, Roosevelt, Utah: Deone Spencer, Frank Thompson, Thomp-son, Donald Yack, Jesse C. Birtcher, Smith Johnson, Max Gardner, Otto Lloyd, Paul Foote, John R. Lemon. Fred S. Birch. Grant Blea-zard, Blea-zard, Sidney Rust, J. Arthur Timothy, Kelly Riley, Lester Maxfield, Alfred S. Goodrich, Ross Monson, Wallace Seeley. Frank T. Defa, Joe Curry, Leo B. Defa, William Foy, John Munz, Lloyd Redmund, J. Alma Smith, Joseph R. Clayburn, and Reed Clayburn. SCD supervisors are, Ray Brown, Forrest Hancock, and W. C. Foy. All farmers desiring assistance on the 1954 ACP program are urged to attend the nearest meeting and sign up as there will be no other meetings held throughout the county in 1954 I for this purpose. |
