Show VVorkmans Give Account Of Month's Trip Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Workman returned last week from a month's trip, giving the following account of their experiences: "We left Roosevelt Nov. 2nd, and visited with our daughter and family in Salt Lake City a few days. From there we went to Cor-tez, Cor-tez, Colo., where we stayed with my wife's sister, Miss Elvira Pike. Then we went on to Durango, Colorado Col-orado and spent some time visiting visit-ing Mesa Verda National Park, which is 20 miles from Cortez. "From Cortez, we started for Texas. At Wichita Falls, Texas, we visited with our son, MSgt. Chalmer Workman, who is stationed sta-tioned at Sheppard Air Force Base. The next hop was to Lubbock, Texas, where we visited with the Olen Perrymans, former Roosevelt Roose-velt residents. From there we went to Clavis, New Mexico. "Enroute home and while in Cortez we received word that Mrs. Workman's brother in Wins-low, Wins-low, Arizona, was expecting us for Thanksgiving dinner, 279 miles from Cortez, so we left for Wins-low, Wins-low, seeing many interesting sigths, including the Arizona Painted Paint-ed Desert and the Petrified National Na-tional Forest. From Winslow we went to the Grand Canyon via Flagstaff, through the Kiabab National Na-tional Forest- "We also visited some famous Indian Pueblos and Oak Creek Canyon. We toured the famous Ghost Town or Arizona Jerome, 52 miles from Phoenix. "Then we back-tracked to Cortez, Cor-tez, Colo., via Gallup, New Mexico Mexi-co and from Cortez to Price. Then to Salt Lake City and home to Roosevelt. "We enjoyed every minute of the trip." |
