Show i Mt. Emmons Deane Case The Altamont seventh grade presented the operetta "Taffy Ann," Monday night. Etholene Burton, of Talmage, and Bob Allred, of Altonah, sang the leading roles, with a supporting support-ing cast of ten other boys and girls who had singing and speaking speak-ing parts. Choruses utilized the rem'ainder of the class. Mrs. Edythe Hansen directed the operetta, op-eretta, the second she has presented pre-sented this year with a junior high school cast. Twila Larson, of Bluebell, a 9th grade student, was accompanist. A large audience enjoyed Stake M.I.A. drama night, Tuesday Tues-day evening at the high school gym. Plays were presented by the following wards: Boneta, Mrs. Beverly Fieldsted, director; Bluebell, Mrs. Ona Rust, director; direct-or; Talmage, Mrs. Louise Thompson; Thomp-son; Altonah, Mrs. Margaret Maxfield. The Altonah play, "Deep in the Heart of Texas," won first place. Judges were Mrs. Ina Mecham, Mrs. Opal Gomm, E. L. Murphy, Arthur Saddler and Earl Case. Mrs. Chester Hartman is still seriously ill at the Roosevelt hospital. The Special Interest group of the Stake M.I.A. held a dance Friday night at the Mt. Emmons ward hall. Square dancing was enjoyed during the evening to music played by Mr, and Mrs. LeRoy Thacker and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Richards. Earl Case was caller. call-er. Mrs. Olive Miles is stake leader of the eroup. Bryant Gomm, student at U. S.A.C., spent the weekend with his parents. Weekend visitors at the E. W. Crosby home were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Rogers and baby, of Salt Lake, and Eva Dean and Earl Crosby, who are employed in Salt Lake. Members of the L.D.S. Seminary Sem-inary presented a program Sunday Sun-day at Sacrament meeting, consisting con-sisting of talks, by Neal Dastrup and Anna Lee Thacker, Mt. Emmons; Ardls Goodrich, Or-land Or-land Murray, Bluebell; and a song by Orland Murray. Neal announced the program. John H. Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cook, of Ballard, were dinner guests Sunday at the Floyd Case home. Deane Case was hostess Sunday Sun-day evening at a Fireside chat. Beth Winkler, of Bluebell, reviewed re-viewed "The Pearl of Great Price." Piano selections were presented by Afton Smithson, and solos were sung by Lucy Powell, Mona Miles and Beth Winklerf. Twenty-one were present. pres-ent. Light refreshments were served. |
