Show Christensen s Open Dry good s Store In Roosevelt Christensen's, a large Utah drygoods chain, with headquarters headquar-ters in Payson, has purchased the Leslie Ashton and Sons dry goods department, and will open for business Friday morning. The Roosevelt store is the ninth in the Christensen chain. The firm, started in 1929 at Richfield, also has stores in Gunnison, Salina, Ephraim, Pay-son, Pay-son, Nephi, Pleasant Grove, and Spanish Fork. Mr. Ashton leased a portion of his building and sold his merchandise mer-chandise to Christensen's, after 33 years of continuous operation in the drygoods field at Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. E. Dwain Buchanan, manager' of the Roosevelt store, became affiliated with Christensen's in 1946 at Salina, following his discharge dis-charge from the Navy after three years of service in the Pacific theatre of operations.
