Mr. Harrison explained how the board of governors of the Commercial Com-mercial club had been promoting promot-ing the bean industry, realizing that Basin farmers must diversify diversi-fy their farming or go out of business. James E. Bacon, of Cedar-view, Cedar-view, was recently elected deputy dep-uty county assessor for the Nine Mile district. Atwood, adviser of the Roosevelt Future Farmers Farm-ers of America club, along with a judging team consisting of Everett Harrison, Larue Pickup and Eldon Young, attended the annual stock show held Saturday Satur-day in Ogden. Roosevelt, boy, Jan. 19. 10 Years Ago This Week The city council Tuesday evening eve-ning studied WPA sewer proiect papers presented by Mayor Geo. Harrison. The proiect, as drafted draft-ed and presented to the council, raised the completed proiect from $80,000 to $96,000, which in turn raised the sponsor's share from $18,000 to $31,000. The council, by order, requested the mayor and recorder to make a trip to WPA offices in Salt Lake City to get the project worked over, so that costs to the city might be materially reduced. re-duced. Turkeys will again be offered under contract this year to growers of the Uintah Basin, according ac-cording to officials of the Lee Brown Poultry company, of Ogden. Og-den. President Ronald Wiscombe, of the Roosevelt Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, introduced new officers of the organization at the Founders Day banquet held Monday at the American Legion barracks. They were: Clem Labrum, vice president; Marc Wilkins, treasurer; Paul Murphy, secretary; and Elmer Eldredge, Robert Huish, and Floyd Bryce, members of the board of directors. Melvin E. Lundberg, secretary secre-tary and general manager of the Uintah Power and Light company for eight years, has accepted a position as secretary and treasurer of the privately owned Elko - Lamoille POwer company with offices in Elko, Nevada.
