Show Obituaries XAVIER BEFFORT Xavier Beffort, 35, Orem, died Sunday, Dec. 1, in a Salt Lake hospital, of pneumonia, after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 17, 1921, at Myton, a son of Alex N. and Mary Halverson Beffort. He made his home here during h;s childhood j and attended the Myton elementary i and Roosevelt High Schools. The family moved to Salt Lake about 1940. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1941. serving in World War II until 1944 He married Sibyl Rowe, Feb 27, 1948 in Elko, Nevada and later served in the Korean conflict in 1950 and 1951. Prior to the time of his death he was a crane operator opera-tor at Geneva. Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Carolyn and Yvonne, Orem; parents, Salt Lake; 2 brothers, bro-thers, Paul at Newburg, Oregon and Alex at Provo; 3 sisters, Mrs. Howard (Pauline). Davis, Provo; Mrs. Paul (Iona) Gray, Ft. Riley Kansas; Mrs. Charles (Eva) Barkley Orem. Funeral services were held Thur-with Thur-with military rites by Orem Post of the American Legion, under direction of Lee Drake, Commander. Command-er. Burial was in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills cemetery. |
