Show Commissioners Approve $1 92,01 9 County Budget Duchesne County's 1957 budget will be $192,019.01, county commissioners com-missioners decided after a public hearing. The figure represents an estimated estimat-ed $12,000 increase from 1956, but shows a drop in estimated spending spend-ing in 1956 of $201,874. Spending was over budget in 1956 mostly because of an increase in state road funds. The setting of the budget follows fol-lows public hearing and the filing of budget estimates by the different dif-ferent county departments. It probably will mean a 10.1 mill tax levy next fall. About $82,000 of the budget is in the county road and special road fund, otherwise the largest single budget allocation is $16,-500 $16,-500 for bond payments. Under the general fund, the following fol-lowing items are budgeted; Clerk's office, $5,820;. treasurer, $6 000; recorder, $6,230; assessor, $6,400; sheriff, $7,500; county attorney, at-torney, $2,000; commissioners, $4,-800; $4,-800; printing, $1,300; district court, $700; convention, $400; audit, $600; justice court, $2 000; criminal, $2,500; juvenile, $800; courthouse, $7,000; fuel, light and phone, $500; insurance, $3,000 agriculture inspector, in-spector, $800; public health, $1,200; miscellaneous, $4 000; fire control, $500; water, $3,000. Special funds are: Weed control, $10,000; extension service, $5,283;. roads, $23,683; special (state), $59,000; poor, $6,-000; $6,-000; exhibits, $1,600; bonds, $16,-500;. $16,-500;. Colorado River, $500; courthouse, court-house, $403.01. The county has no election expense ex-pense for 1957, a $5,000 budget savings from a year ago, but $3,000 of the gain is eliminated by (he added item for water expenditures. expen-ditures. The money will be allocated al-located by the commissioners as seen fit for conservancy promotion and other activities.
