Show Cleo Holgate Is July Bride; Weds In Temple Adding her name to the list of July brides was Miss Cleo Holgate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holgate oi Arcadia, who became the bride of Lorin Stanley Stevenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Stevenson of Mt. Home, in solemn rite, performed Friday, July 2, in the Manti LDS Temple. The newlyweds were feted at a reception July 16 in Arcadia, Ar-cadia, where the bride greeted guests in a wedding gown of traditional white satin, scalloped down the front and fashioned with an ultra full skirt with lace underskirt. She carried a bouquet of red roses and whits carnations. Miss Gwynn Holgate was maid of honor, with Mrs. JoAnn Walker and Miss Nonalee Holgate, Hol-gate, sisters of the bride, and Kay Stevenson, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. They wore like gowns of red dotted Swiss, princess style with very full skirts. Mother of the bride wore an afternoon frock of brown and biege, while the groom's mother chose a blue afternoon dress. Both had corsages of red roses and carnations. Kenneth Walker assumed duties of best man. Music for dancing was furnished fur-nished by the bride's uncles, Milt Larsen, James Larsen and Arch Larsen, and her cousin, Pauline Larsen. The following program numbers num-bers were Dresented: vocal se lections, Glen Mecham and Louis Lou-is Farnsworth; reading, Kent Jensen; vocal solos, Mauna Neb-ecker Neb-ecker and Norma May Hansen. Mrs. Hale Holgate was in charge of the serving and Mrs. Ed Miles and Mrs. Milt Larsen directed gift room arrangements. arrange-ments. The young couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone National Park and will make their home in Mt. Home. For her going-away outfit the new Mrs. Stevenson wore a biege suit with white accessories. The bride is a graduate of Union High School, where she was a member of the Pep Club and Home Economics Club and also a cheer leader. The groom attended the Brigham Young University one year and served overseas in Japan with the U. S. armed forces. Among social events complimenting compli-menting the new bride were a shower on July 17, given by Mrs. Lorin Stevenson of Mt. Home; a personal shower, presided pre-sided over by Mrs. Arch Larsen and Mrs. Boyd Freston; and a spice shower on July 19, at the home of Mrs. Lynn Ross. |
