Show UBIC Art Exhibit To Be Sponsored By 7 - Arts Club The UBIC third annual Art Exhibit is being sponsored by the 7-Arts Club, under the direction di-rection of Leo Thorne, president; presi-dent; Bernice Edrington, vice-president, vice-president, and Mary Norton, secretary. The 7-Arts Club invites every artist, beginner and adult in the Basin to enter their paintings. ' The following rules will be observed: 1 All pictures must be turned in by August 1st. Judging will be August 3, at 8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. 2 Pictures will be accepted at the following places. Hansen Rug Co. in Roosevelt, City Bakery, Roosevelt, Thome's Studio, in Vernal and Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. 3 All pictures must be framed or mounted, (a) Framed pictures pic-tures must be equipped with two screw eyes and six feet of picture wire; (b) Mounted pictures must have some means supplied to hang or give permission to use thumb tacks; (c) Pictures cannot be accepted if not so equipped; (d) You may enter 5 pictures, only three in one division. 4 To encourage artists to produce pro-duce new works, only one piece previously exhibited at the UBIC will be accepted. 5 All pictures must be marked on the back with the artist's name, title of picture, priced if for sale, whether original or copies. If picture is not for sale please specify. 6 There will be no entrance fee, no commission will be charged if painting is sold. Dibble, from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. 8 We, of the 7-Arts Club will' do ' everything possible to care for your entries until they are picked up. Dibble, the artist judging the exhibit, has his Master of Arts degree from Columbia University and studied stud-ied with the Arts Students League of New York City. He .has won several first prize pur-, pur-, chase awards at the Utah State , Fair and Utah Art Institute He was granted the Whittemore .Award for a painting in 1948, .and has exhibited in New York City, the Southwest and Pacific Northwest States. |
