Show Parade And Other Events Make July 24th Success (Crowded Out Last Week) The July 24th parade, which featured many beautiful floats and character entries, was outstanding, out-standing, and according to the Judges was very difficult to judge. However, after much deliberation, delibera-tion, prizes were awarded as follows: fol-lows: Most beautiful float, Roosevelt Roose-velt Second ward Relief Society, which depicted the line of progress in transportation from the covered wagon to the airplane;, best character char-acter group, Diane Miles, Connie Richardson, Danny Miles and Keith Richardson, who were dressed dress-ed as pioneers, and had their goat with a pack on its back; most original, the Mormon Battalion, from Ballard; best decorated bicycles, bi-cycles, Jean Todd and Keith Fredrickson; and best decorated doll' buggy, the Seagull on a nest, Shauna Murdock. Mrs. Rex Curry, general chairman chair-man of the parade, wishes to thank all organizations and individuals indi-viduals who entered floats, making mak-ing the parade a real success. Following the parade a program was presented under the direction of Owen F. Burgener and Mrs. Burr Eldredge. Community singing was led by Mrs, Leslie Beardall of Ft.. Duchesne, with Mrs. Hollis Hull'inger as accompanist. A re-told pioneer story was given by Marilyn Winterton and a talk by Lionel Jensen, - speaker for the day. Games for youngsters were supervised su-pervised by Ray Summers. And then came the rain but fortunately, most of the celebration celebra-tion was over. In the afternoon the animal circus cir-cus was presented and the evening celebration was climaxed by a good rodeo. The Roosevelt stake MIA and Roosevelt Riding Club cooperated in the arrangement of the day's, activities. |
