Show Basin Democrats Organize For Coming Elections Over 50 Duchesne and Uintah Uin-tah county Democrats turned out Wednesday for the party's two-county, organizational meeting meet-ing at the American Legion hall. The object of the parley was to organize Democrats of the two counties for the Sept. 5 primary and Nov. 7 general election, Bennie Schmiett, Duchesne Du-chesne county chairman, said. Mr. Schmiett said that all party workers, Including convention con-vention delegates, county precinct pre-cinct chairmen, and members of the county central committee were urged to use their influence influ-ence to see that party members vote in both elections. The assembled Democrats also al-so came out ' in whole-hearted support of the present Uintah Basin rural telephone drive. Democrats throughout the two counties, Mr. Schmiett continued, contin-ued, will work with Senator Elbert El-bert Thomas and Representative Representa-tive Walter K. Granger to speed approval of the Uintah Basin Telephone Cooperative, Inc., application ap-plication now pending in Wash ington, D. C. Prominent Democrats present at the meeting were Al Weeks, state chairman; Mrs. Walker, Representative Granger's executive execu-tive secretary; and Orlan Johnson, John-son, Uintah county chairman. |
