Peart Funeral services were held for Grandma Jane Peart at Randolph, last Friday, under the direction ot Bishop L. B. Johnson, as follows: Opening song, Randolph choir, O, My Father. Invocation, p. H. Rex. The speakers were President James Brown, Olaf Larson and Bishop Johnson. Musical numbers were rendered- by John and Robert Neilson, of Evanston, and Miss Ina Jackson, of Randolph. The choir sang, "Shall We Meet Beyond the River. Benediction was offered by Ed. Spencer of Evanston. Interment was made in in Ogden cemetery, Bishop B. P. Garner dedicating the grave. Ray South, Arthui Brough, Roy Peart, Spencer Peart, Jack Peart and Mearl Peart, grandsons of the deceased. The following people attended the funeral : Mrs. Sadie Brough, Mr. and Mrs. Ray South, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, of Trenton, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peart, Fern Andrews, of Ogden ; Mr. and Mrs. John Peart, Ortell, Jack and Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Peart, John McKinnon, Mrs. J. RODENT CONTROL CONTEST CLOSES In the 1937 Rodent Control Contest, points were turned in, compared to 52,556 for 1936. The following num- ber of rodents and magpies were turned in: 12,358 ground squirrels, 147 prairie dogs, 55 rock chucks, 167 pocket gophers, 23 jack rabbits, 301 field mice, 146 magpie eggs, and 385 magpie beads. Besides winning the highest number of points, Lamar strung all of his squirrel tails, magpie heads, etc, in strings and turned them in in excellent condition for which he is to be complimentwere Ar-gyl- e, Government Pays Farmers one Million Farmers of Utah, have been paid more than one million dollars during the past year by the Agricultural Adjustment Administration for their participation in the conservation program, according to LeRoy C. Funk, state secretary of the AAA. This figure includes payments up to July 15 for tho 1936 crop year. The net amount paid directly to the coperating farmers was $924,405.29, and the remainder was paid for organization expenses, most of which went back to committeemen comprised of farmers, Mr. Funk said.
