Show poison advised in fight on cutworms Cut worms no method yet found for treating seeds 1 by sim SAM CI 0 a A 1 1 r L 4 deputy state E n t 0 m I 1 X t CM colorado 1 A 1 A g r I 1 c u I 1 t u r a I 1 cal collece lega service cutworms Cut worms are most effectively controlled by scattering poisoned bait on the ground just beneath the plants on which they are feeding there Is no practical method known of treating I 1 prevent cutworm injury the poisoned bait maj may be made af pf of five pounds of bran four ounces of parts paris green three fourths of a pint of cheap molasses sand and two quarts of water it only small amounts are needed larger quantities may be made in the same proportion the poison and molasses should be mixed in the water stir thoroughly then pour slowly over the bran mix completely to insure getting some poison on each flake of bran with large amounts the mixing may be done on a tight floor or heavy canvas with a hoe boe or shovel the mixture should be crumbly but not sloppy it should be broadcast at the rate of ten to fifteen pounds per acre in the evening so it will be fresh when the night f feeding begins |
