| Show WATER USERS MEET AT AURORA committee appointed to negotiate the proposition of securing state slate water for new land responsive to the call made for those desirous of securing water from the new state canal for the coming alison to meet last about sixty five prospective water users convened at the aurora public hall C C Chhn stensen was elected chairman of the meeting and martinus anderson secretary H N hayes hayea stated that the object of the meeting was to consider the apropo ed lease of water as made by bv the state land board and to determine the best methods of procedure dure to put the proposition into ei after considerable discussion the almost unanimous trend of which was in favor of securing the water on an the best terms obtainable a committee consisting of H N haves of richfield Rich neld E W crane of salina john F curtis curbs of aurora john tholman of vermilion and A al 61 anderson of sigurd was appointed to solid subscriptions for water negotiate with the state fur lacasine the same and to prepare articles ot of incorporation to govern the users the substance of the proposition made by the state lind board to furnish water for the cerason of 1910 is to lease for 3 sufficient water to irrigate 2 acres of land the rental price to be secured by bv a non interest bearing note made payable december next the state to deliver the water at the terminus of the sevier revier valley canal and the users of the same to take it at that point and to be responsible for it thereafter As aa it will probably cost from fr am twenty five to fifty cents per acre to defray the expenses of initiating this project and controlling the water during the irrigation season a down payment of ten cents per acre at the time of subscribing was agreed upon |
