Show SHAKING A HOBBY we vre have heard much the past few years about the value of a hobby bobby to an ail individual during the past year we have seen a local merchant and a local doctor H bi mendenhall and dr david B gottfredson developing in their spare time a hobby that they have shared generously with the community the hobby of taking moving pictures with local interest thrown onto the screen at the local theaters as a result of this hobby have been p coures of 11 carious rious events that have occurred in the community or that have given a local angle to happenings of general interest the latest and most st striking g example of this hobby being shared was given during the past two weeks when w h e n dr gottli edson brought home the spirit of the american legion convention con venton and its connection with local interests by showing pictures of the convention parade and other features on a screen at the american legion hall in the armory and also before the central utah medical association meeting at mantl one writer has said it is regrettable that the legions gi gigantic gantle parade up fifth avenue could n not have been made the entire length of the lincoln highway that every man woman or growing youth lin in america today might feel reassured that there is a strong patriotic ferver for defense of liberty for adherence to democracy locally this spirit of patriotic fervor ferver this unity for god and country was realized more fully because feeling the pulse of that I 1 great co convention riven tion were some of our own legionnaires and aubil lary iary mem niem bes because we raw aw them pictured at arlington at the e indianapolis memorial building and in new york as they bade bon voyage to others of their par ty sailing on the queen mary to join in the legions goodwill good will viii tour of europe because as a result of a hobby generously shared we saw I 1 in color the movin moving pictures of that eliat great parade |
