Show SPLENDID E S MARK 0 P ELECTION s of pioneer hosty to old folk folks Tol kt s minth dance in spite of storm and mud the daught daughters ers of pioneers lad had a big attendant ten clane ut at their annual meeting for the election of officers offiCer 5 at the first ward chapel last saturday afternoon w when lien more than guests mostly men and womer over CO 00 years of agat adf were onterial tied nero mally maily guests frow from oua out of t town 0 nan and autos were oe pre pressed ased into service s r I 1 1 c 6 ard in ill to carry carr Y the aged people to tile tho chapel the high school band was in attendance and added much to the occasion by dis cruising cou coul ising sing enlivening music mrs joseph ogden and her two assistants si stants mrs leavitt and sirs mrs N J bates the officers of the organization for tile past year were present and had charge of the exercises mrs elizabeth heyward state president of the daughters of the pioneers a lady who has been honored by being elected to the house and senate of utah was present prent representing the state organization after an overture by tho the band ban d Mrs BIrs Lizzle hansen led the audience in singing come come yo ye saints and the invocation was offered by paul poulson then followed the presentation of the officers for the succeeding year they were mrs S G dark clark president and mrs W H robinson and mrs A J enco ence as assistants these ladies were then the n called to express themselves as to the organization and its ideals then followed a deligh delightful tul program in fit which the following took part mrs R G dark clark the boys chorus from the high school the third vard bard mixed quartet and a mixed sextet momoe two LN 0 recitations by genevieve hansen a a little 6 year old miss and another recitation by viola 9 ogden principal olson of the monroe high school delivered a spirited address on the pioneers and mrs hayward gave a short talk on the work of the organization A vote of thanks v was as given the retiring officers at AL the close of the exercises the entire audience was invited to go to the amusement hall and partake of the refreshments prepared by wl willing 11 ing hands bands at the amusement hall lia 11 a bevy of young women nomen served a delightful lunch to all and the toothsome viands were thoroughly enjoyed in the evening a ball was glien ghen at the anona and several hundred people attended this function in de flance of tho the storm the celebration of the annual election of the officers for the daughters daughter of the pioneers for 1921 will long be ba remembered for the enjoyable exercises that marked it |
