Show E ROSS DOSS DIES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL FOLLOWING PRO ONGE I 0 I 1 LINE W was county clerk cleric for four years and had host of friends in spite of physical suffering was cheerful courteous ed ross former county clerk of this county and well known merchant of joseph died at the local hospital on wednesday following an illness that lasted several months the immediate in cause of death was heart failure mr ross had bad suffered more or less all all his life from violent attacks of inflammatory rheumatism sixteen years ago after afterman an unusually hard bard attack of the disease he had to undergo an operation for the amputation of one leg in spite of this unusual handicap ed ross presented a hold bold front to life and refused to accept fates hardships as the end of his usefulness ho he turned a cheerful face to the future entered business and made a success of life borno borne down with physical pain and suffering that would have crushed the life of a less valiant and cheerful spirit he met life with a smile and greeted his fel with cheer and courage that was most remarkable he served as county clerk for four years tilling filling the office with credit meeting the patrons of the office with kindness and courtesy that made a visit to the county clerks office a pleasure leasure and a benedicti oin when he read sd from office he ha returned to his native town of joseph where he engaged in mercantile pursuits in which he was successful eight years ago ho he married matilda bell of elsinore EI aud and three children marg barbara and beth have blost blest the union he is survived by two brothers and four si these ar cJoseph W richfield Richtie ld W joe austin mrs C K R christensen elsinore EI mrs leroy hopkins delta mrs wesley parr farr beaver mrs walter waller ogden richfield funeral services were held at joseph yesterday at 11 there was a large attendance from all the neighboring towns including richfield and many beautiful floral tokens were nvere placed on oil the bier of the departed citizen the services were conducted by bishop J parker and consoling and eloquent remarks were made by goo geo 11 jones judge H N hayes and bishop parker all of w whom botn had known decedent and had valued him for his many sterling qualities mr ross was the representative at joseph of the sevier county chapter of the red cross and had devoted much time and labor to war work beautiful music was rendered by sweet inere of joseph and elsinore Elsi noro and tile the r am kind hind and appreciative things s decedent wore were complimentary tu the bereaved wife and other relatives the funeral cortege journeyed to 4 richfield whore interment was made in the city cemetery |
