Show JORGENSEN INTRODUCES SCHOOL TAX MEASURE Hon. S. M. Jorgensen, a member of the. house of representativees of the eighteenth legislature, and who spent the week-end in Salina looking after his business interests and spending a day with his family, announced that a house joint resolution would be introduced intro-duced that would increase state school apportionment. At the present low per capita of $25, it is argued, matters are not equalized and an attempt will be made to raise the per capita to $50. If the resolution is put through and is made an amendment to the constitution, constitu-tion, school burdens, locally, will be materially benefited. Mr. Jorgensen stated that he had several other mat- jters under consideration, that if successful suc-cessful in being made laws, would materially ma-terially benefit Sevier county. Asked as to the repeal of many of the obsolete laws, Mr. Jorgensen stated that many of the members of the legislature leg-islature would favor them in many instances. The matter has been referred re-ferred to the code commission and likely that body will, after Investigation, Investiga-tion, recommend repeal. Mr. Jorgensen has been placed on many of the important committees, and while he is not occupying the exalted ex-alted position he did two years ago, he . is mixing in many of the important I bills that have been and are being presented. pre-sented.
