Show f UNERAL SERVICES HELD EOR JAMES CLAWSON ' Funeral services were held .Monday .Mon-day afternoon, August 27, at 2 o'clock ul llic Siiing City M'a'rd chapel for James Clawson of Spring City, who was found dead in his bed Saturday morning. Bishop Samuel Sam-uel Allied presiding. The ward choir was present and furnished a number of appropriate hymns, among which were "1 Need Thee Every Hour," "1 Know That My Redeemer Lives," and "Rock of Ages." The speakers were Elders Sorcn P. Sorensen, Henry L. Acord. Simon T. Meek, John V. Allied and Bishop Samuel Allied. The opening prayer was offered by Elder John R. Baxter and the closing' prayer by Elder John'S. Blain. Mr. Clawson was born in Denmark in February of the year 1S5. Hi' came to Mount Pleasant in 1802 and spent a year in this city. The following fol-lowing year he moved to Spring City where he made his permanent home. In 18 7 3 he was married to Sarah bar-sen bar-sen and six children have been born unto them. They are Mrs. Meltie G. Strain of Canada, James Clinton Clawson of Castle Dale, Utah, Mrs. Sarah V. Johnson of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Jennie C. Watson and Alderman Clawson and Lloyd Clawson ol Spring City. Mr. Clawson was a man of strong personality and was an active man .. public, affairs. lie had gained the love and respect of a host of friends in this part of the slate. |
