Show LITTLE GIRL PREFERS THRIF1 STAMPS TO CANDY Little Anna Helene Nelson is a hustler when it comes to saving and buying Thrift Stamps. During the past month she has been making Special Deliveries from the local Post Office. Last Sunday she delivered a letter to Roy West, salesman for Marshall-Field Marshall-Field & Co. of New York, who was stopping at the Brown Hotel. Upon delivering the letter, Mr. West asked the little girl if she liked candy. Everybody knows what she said. Mr. West asked her which kind she liked best, and she replied, "Any kind suits me." Then Mr. West gave her some money and told her to buy the kind of candy she liked best. Liltle Helene Hel-ene said, "Thank you, I want to buy Thrift Stamps instead of candy." So Mr. West highly complimented her for her patriotism and sent her along to buy her Thrift Stamps. During the past month Helene has purchased one War Savings Certificate Certific-ate and ten Thrift Stamps out of her own savings. There are many boys and girls who could do well by following the example examp-le of this little girl. It will help win the war. |
